How Does this Process Impact Me?

It is policy that any proposed research to be conducted at or under the auspices of the CHR receives scientific, administrative and ethical review prior to implementation. This is regardless of whether it is a proposal generated by The University of Calgary Faculty, University of Calgary students, CHR staff or investigators external to the hospitals and University. All research conducted at CHR sites requires an on-site collaborator or sponsor. Research proposals involving children, or both children and adults, are reviewed by the Child Health Research Committee regardless of the CHR site that is involved. If your research does not involve minors please contact the Office of Medical Bioethics at 220-7990. If you are not sure if your study impacts the Calgary Health Region, please contact the CHRO at 955-7241.
